Avatar: Fire and Ash earns Rs 13.5 crore on day 7, enters Rs 100-crore club

ames Cameron-directed Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment in the critically acclaimed Avatar franchise, hit the theatres in India on December 19. Its box office run in the country has been slower than expected. While the Hollywood sci-fi spectacle continues to perform strongly on the global stage thanks to the holiday season, it has been facing tough competition in India from Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar.Despite the hurdles, Avatar 3 has crossed an important milestone in its first week. The film entered the Rs 100 crore club in India on its seventh day. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Avatar: Fire and Ash earned around Rs 13.50 crore on December 25 across all languages. The film’s total earnings in the country now stand at Rs 109.65 crore. The Christmas holiday provided a much-needed boost to collections. Globally, the film has grossed over Rs 5000 crore.
On Thursday, Avatar: Fire and Ash had an overall 56.51% English occupancy and a 44.19% Hindi (3D) occupancy. The film had an overall 36.06% Telugu (3D) occupancy, whereas 41.94% Tamil (3D) occupancy.

Avatar: Fire and Ash takes audiences back to Pandora, as Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their people face fresh threats and challenges. It is James Cameron’s third installment in the Avatar franchise, following Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022). The film features Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana reprising their roles as Jake Sully and Neytiri.
The movie also stars Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, Matt Gerald, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Jemaine Clement, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Filip Geljo, and Duane Evans Jr. reprise their roles from previous films. Meanwhile, Oona Chaplin has joined the cast as the new antagonist named Varang, the Na’vi leader of the volcano-dwelling clan.
